Yes! Comic Concepts is an authorized dealer for all brands it carries, including Hot Toys, Prime 1 Studio, Sideshow Collectibles, Tsume, Infinity Studio, JND, PCS, etc. Every piece is an officially licensed product sourced directly from the manufacturer.
Comic Concepts specializes specifically in high-end statues and figures: sixth scale figures (⅙ scale), quarter scale (¼ scale), third scale (⅓ scale), half scale (½ scale), and life-size collectibles. Unlike general toy stores, this is our entire focus. We are deeply involved in the collector community, work closely with manufacturers, and provide hands-on customer service directly from people who collect this stuff themselves.
Yes. Comic Concepts offers a loyalty program designed to reward returning collectors with benefits that help offset costs like shipping and taxes, keeping our overall pricing among the most competitive in the market. See more about how our loyalty program works elsewhere in this FAQ.
Comic Concepts carries products from Hot Toys, Prime 1 Studio, Sideshow Collectibles, Tsume, Infinity Studio, JND, PCS, Iron Studios, and many others. Franchises include Marvel, DC Comics, Star Wars, Berserk, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Attack on Titan, Pokemon, One Piece, God of War, Fallout, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, Predator, Alien, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, and dozens more.
Finding Products
We add new products regularly as manufacturers announce upcoming releases. If you’re looking for a specific piece, the best approach is to check our New Pre-Orders section, use the search function on the site, or contact us directly. We’re happy to let you know if something is on our radar or expected to be added to our catalog.
Use the Brands menu or search bar to browse by franchise. Our catalog spans Marvel, DC, Star Wars, anime titles (Berserk, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Attack on Titan, One Piece, Demon Slayer, and more), video games (God of War, Fallout, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, and more), and film and horror licenses. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, contact us. We may have it coming or be able to point you in the right direction.
Pre-orders
A pre-order allows you to secure a collectible before it has been manufactured and shipped. Because production on high-end statues and figures typically begins one to two years before release, pre-ordering is often the only way to guarantee you receive a piece at its retail price. Once a product sells out, it moves to the secondary market where prices are almost always significantly higher. You also receive full quality check (QC) protection by ordering with us, meaning if there are any issues with your order, we are here to help!
This refers to the manufacturer’s estimated release date for the collectible. While we will always do our best to get collectors their pre-orders on time, we do not have control over delays from the manufacturer. Collectors are expected to understand this and know that a manufacturer delay will not result in an opportunity for an NRD refund.
- Q4 is October – December
- Q1 is January – March
- Q2 is April – June
- Q3 is July – September
Pre-ordering locks in your piece at the retail price. Popular figures and statues, especially limited editions, can sell out during the pre-order window itself. Once sold out, they typically only become available on the secondary market at substantially inflated prices.
Production on high-end collectibles typically begins one to two years before the estimated shipping date. Most products are listed for pre-order at the beginning of their production cycle, so lead times of 12 to 24 months are common.
Estimated shipping windows are listed on each product page and updated as we receive information from the manufacturer. If you have a specific order and want a status update, contact us directly with your order number, and we’ll get you the most current information we have.
For collectibles ready to ship from our USA warehouse, you will need to pay the remaining balance within seven (7) days of receiving your final balance invoice. If payment is not received by day seven (7), your order will be canceled and you will not get a refund on your deposit.
For larger-scale/priced collectibles, we may invoice up to two (2) months in advance in order to make sure your collectible will ship immediately upon arrival to the USA. Manufacturers, we will invoice for one to two (1-2) months in advance, including, but not limited to: Prime 1 Studios, JND Studios, Infinity Studio, Tsume-Art, HEX Collectibles, Figurama Collectors, Jimei Palace, etc. We will notify collectors via Newsletter Updates or Facebook if anything changes. This is rare and we typically will invoice you once your collectible has already arrived.
Once a pre-order is completely paid, your item may take anywhere from one (1) day to 14 days to ship from our warehouse and up to one to two (1-2) months for the above mentioned larger scaled collectibles. While it’s extremely rare to take more than 30 days, occasionally, port congestion and/or customs inspection issues may cause delays. We will always notify customers of any delays via Facebook Updates or Newsletter.
Note: We send invoices early to make sure your collectible can ship out immediately, the second they arrive at the warehouse. We want these collectibles in their rightful homes as quickly as possible!
Release date delays are an inherent part of how the high-end collectibles industry works. Manufacturing timelines shift, and delays do not constitute grounds for a refund of the non-refundable deposit. If you have concerns about a specific delay, contact us to discuss your situation.
Estimated release dates are just that, estimates. Manufacturing timelines can shift due to production complexity, licensing, or supply chain factors. We update estimated shipping windows on product pages as new information becomes available.
Yes. Limited-edition pieces can and do sell out during the pre-order window. If a product you want is listed as sold out, you can join a waitlist. Waitlist conversions are on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning everyone has the same opportunity to purchase a waitlist conversion whether you signed up first or last. Once a collectible restocks, those who order it fastest will secure what limited stock becomes available.
While we do typically limit customers to 2 orders for any specific item, this is a loose rule. For anyone who would like to order more than 2 of any collectible, please contact us before placing your order, as it will be cancelled.
Collector editions are typically standard and have fewer accessories. Special Editions (Deluxe, Bonus, Ultimate, etc.) have smaller production numbers and may include exclusive accessories, alternate head sculpts, or other premium additions. Special editions tend to hold or increase in value on the secondary market more than Collector editions.
Ordering and Payment
Comic Concepts accepts major credit and debit cards as well as “buy now, pay later” services, including Affirm and Afterpay. Please note that if you do not qualify for Affirm or After Pay, we cannot give you your deposit back on a cancellation, and we have no control over their approval processes. These payment plans may be subject to a small fee.
All purchases at Comic Concepts require a 20% non-refundable deposit at the time of ordering, whether you’re placing a pre-order or buying an in-stock item. If you pay in full upfront, please note that if a refund is issued for any reason, the 20% deposit amount is retained.
Please contact us if you need to cancel your order. Note that all orders have a 20% non-refundable deposit/restocking fee, depending on if it is an “In Stock” item or “Pre-Order”. There are no refunds and no transfers. We also do not offer refunds for deposits in the form of Comic Cash. Any payment plans or full payment refunds are subject to a 5% transaction fee as well as the 20% NRD.
All orders require a 20% non-refundable deposit based on the collectible’s total value.
- If you have only paid the 20% deposit of the TOTAL VALUE, that full payment is forfeited upon cancellation — no refund is issued.
- If you have paid more than the 20% deposit of the total value, you will receive a refund for any amount paid beyond the deposit, minus a 5% transaction fee applied to that remaining balance.
Example: If your collectible costs $1,000 and you paid $600:
- Your deposit (non-refundable): $200 (20%)
- Refundable balance: $400
- Transaction fee (5% of $400): $20
- Refund issued: $380
Pre-orders represent a commitment to a collectible that may still be one to two years from production completion. Because we secure allocation from the manufacturer on your behalf when you place a pre-order, cancellations are subject to the 20% non-refundable deposit policy, and the deposit portion is not returned regardless of when you cancel or how far out the release date is. If you’re unsure about a piece, we recommend waiting until you’re certain before placing a pre-order rather than canceling later.
We do not offer order transfers for the safety and security of our collectors.
Comic Cash loyalty points can be found under your account page. 100 points is equivalent to $1 (USD). Your loyalty points are tracked in your account. Log in and visit your account dashboard to view your current point balance. Loyalty points may only be used on items currently shipping or on invoice balances on pre-orders. Please note that they cannot be used on deposits. If used on a pre-order, the discount will be taken from your final balance invoice. If you’re having trouble locating your points or applying them, contact us and we’ll help sort it out.
Shipping costs shown at checkout are estimates on pre-orders. Actual shipping costs are calculated based on your location, the size and weight of the item, and the carrier rates at the time of shipment. Your final shipping charge may differ from the estimate shown.
Sales tax is currently charged to California and Georgia customers at this time. All taxes and fees are subject to change based on different implementations of law via state or government. International import taxes and tariffs are not covered and will be handled by the customer when their package arrives in customs. Current tariff rates range from 4%-6% and are subject to change by pre-order arrival. See more in the “Tariffs and import fees” section of this FAQ.
Tariffs and Import Fees
Yes, depending on your location and the product. Sales tax is calculated based on your shipping address. Tariffs and import duties may also apply — most high-end collectibles are manufactured in China and are subject to current U.S. tariff schedules. Applicable charges will be noted during checkout. Because tariff rates can change, final amounts may vary from estimates shown. Please note that canceling an order due to a high tariff is not grounds to refund the 20% non-refundable deposit.
As of 2025, U.S. tariff policy has significantly expanded import duties on goods manufactured in China and other countries. Because the vast majority of premium collectibles are produced overseas, these costs now affect most high-end statues and figures sold in the U.S. Comic Concepts is committed to transparency about these charges so there are no surprises at delivery.
Tariff and import duty charges are government-imposed fees that are separate from the product price and are not controlled by Comic Concepts.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping is completely dependent on the final packaging determined by the manufacturer. This is not typically known until the final phases of production.
For a general idea on shipping costs, you can use our shipping calculator based on what we feel the box sizes will be if similar to previous-sized statues and figures. This estimator pulls from our accounts directly. If there is any change in shipping when a product is released, it’s because the final product packaging was either over- or under-estimated by the manufacturer.
Please note that we will not offer cancellations or refunds if your shipping cost is higher than expected. This estimator is to be used as a guide and may not reflect final cost.
Shipping timelines vary depending on the item and your location. In-stock items ship as quickly as possible after your order is confirmed. Pre-orders ship once the manufacturer has completed production and delivered the product to us. Estimated shipping windows for pre-orders are listed on each product page. Once a collectible arrives in the US and you have paid your final invoice, shipping typically takes 1-5 business days.
Yes. Please refer to the shipping options available at checkout for your location. International shipping availability and costs depend on your country and current carrier and customs policies.
High-end collectibles are shipped in their original manufacturer’s packaging, which is designed to protect the piece during transit.
You are protected. If a manufacturer closes before fulfilling a pre-order that Comic Concepts has already paid for, we will work to make you whole. This is part of our commitment to collector protection, a standard not all retailers offer. Typically your deposit, as well as any excess payments, will be refunded in the form of Comic Cash (Our Loyalty Program) of equal value.
Returns and Refunds
Any item can be returned as long as it is returned the same way we received it from the factory. Items must be FACTORY SEALED and in brand-new condition. Anyone initiating a return is responsible for shipping fees to send back to us (as well as the shipping fee initially paid to receive the item). Items returned are subject to a restocking fee of 20%.
Contact us directly with your order number and the reason for your refund request. All refunds are subject to the 20% non-refundable deposit policy. Refund requests are reviewed individually and processed based on the circumstances of the order.
We will do everything in our power to help with defects and/or breakages and get you replacements. Depending on the manufacturer and the damage sustained, this can take anywhere from two (2) weeks to six (6) months. We have absolutely no control over these time frames as the manufacturer will decide whether they have replacement parts or will need to remake the part damaged if there are no spare parts. We do not offer refunds due to the time it takes to receive replacement parts.
Please note that opening a dispute or claim is highly discouraged, as we do everything in our power to help resolve the issue. Buyers should understand this before purchasing factory-sealed items. Regardless, please contact us and we will do our absolute best to resolve the matter!
All packages are insured for their full value. If you receive a damaged item, please take pictures immediately of both the shipping materials and the item, and please do not throw away anything until investigation is completed. Please note that refunds/replacements will not be provided for box damage if the collectible is in perfect condition.
All pre-orders are 100% quality check-protected. Please inspect your item within seven (7) days of receiving it so we can resolve any issues. We will cover all quality check issues based on the manufacturer’s recommendation. Older items (such as rare pieces that are factory sealed) will not be covered by 100% QC protection as replacement parts may be impossible to get.
Refunds and returns are unavailable to overseas collectors. We are located in the USA, so depending on how large the damaged item is, we may be unable to ship a replacement part or full statue. In this case, collectors are entitled to a store credit. We can of course offer replacement parts, but the buyer may be required to pay shipping in this case.
Release date delays are an inherent part of how the high-end collectibles industry works and do not constitute grounds for a refund of the non-refundable deposit. If you have concerns about a specific delay, contact us to discuss your situation.
Collector Education
Dimensions are listed on each product page, including height, width, and weight where available. As a general guide, sixth scale (1:6) figures are typically around 12 inches tall, quarter scale (1:4) statues around 18–24 inches, third scale (1:3) statues around 24–32 inches, and life-size pieces are full human height. Always check the individual product listing for exact measurements before ordering, especially if display space is a consideration.
A sixth scale figure (1:6 scale) is a highly detailed, poseable collectible figure representing a character at one-sixth of their real or fictional height — typically around 12 inches tall for a human character. Sixth scale figures are known for lifelike detail, fabric clothing, and accessories. Hot Toys is the leading manufacturer in this category.
Statues are static, non-poseable display pieces focused on sculptural detail, dramatic poses, and visual impact. They are typically made from polystone resin. Figures, particularly sixth scale figures, are poseable and articulated, often featuring fabric clothing and interchangeable parts. Both are considered premium collectibles — the choice comes down to personal display preference.
Scale refers to the ratio of the collectible’s size to the real or fictional subject’s size. Common scales include: 1:6 (sixth scale, approximately 12 inches for a human figure), 1:4 (quarter scale, approximately 18 inches), 1:3 (third scale, approximately 24 inches), 1:2 (half scale), and 1:1 (life-size). Larger scales generally offer more detail and higher price points.
Polystone is a composite material made from polyester resin mixed with powdered stone or similar fillers. It is the most common material used in high-end collectible statues because it holds fine detail well, has a substantial weight that feels premium, and accepts paint cleanly. Most statues from Prime 1 Studio and Sideshow are made from polystone.
Premium Format Figure is Sideshow Collectibles’ name for their 1:4 scale statue line. These are large, highly detailed polystone statues typically featuring fabric elements, intricate bases, and premium finishing. They are among the most recognized and collected formats in the hobby.
Hot Toys is best known for hyper-realistic 1:6 scale figures primarily based on film, TV, and video game characters. They feature fabric clothing, multiple accessories, and interchangeable parts. Prime 1 Studio specializes in large-scale polystone statues at 1:3 and larger scales and are known for dramatic scenes, museum-quality finishes, and extremely high detail. Both are considered the gold standard in their respective categories.
Many limited-edition collectibles hold or increase in value on the secondary market, particularly popular characters in small production runs. However, because the collectibles market is speculative, factors like production volume, character popularity, and condition all affect resale value, so it is never guaranteed. The safest approach is to buy pieces you genuinely love rather than treating them as investments.
Deluxe editions typically include additional accessories, alternate head sculpts, extra display options, or other premium additions not found in the standard version. They are usually priced higher and may have smaller production runs.
Purchasing from an authorized retailer like Comic Concepts is the most reliable way to ensure authenticity. Knockoffs and recasts are primarily a risk when buying from unofficial sources, particularly certain overseas sellers on platforms like eBay. Authentic pieces come with official manufacturer packaging and proper serial numbers on limited editions.
Keep collectibles away from direct sunlight, which fades paint over time. Avoid high humidity, which can warp materials. Polystone statues are fragile, so handle carefully and dust with a soft, dry cloth. Sixth- scale figures should be stored away from extreme temperatures that can affect plastic and fabric components. Display cases offer the best long-term protection.
A display case is a protective enclosure designed for collectibles, protecting pieces from dust, UV light, and accidental damage while keeping them on display. Comic Concepts carries display cases sized for various collectible formats. For high-value pieces, a display case is a worthwhile investment.
